Why Women should Save (for) the Planet

We’ll consider how we save and how it might need to change, because ‘It’s not an investment if it’s destroying the planet’ - Vandana Shiva

Money may not make the world go round, but it does fund fossil fuel extraction, weapons manufacture, rainforest destruction and more.

We’ll be looking at our part in that and finding out ways that we can make sure our money is doing work that matches our values.

Many people, and women in particular, don’t like talking about money, don’t know where their money is, or if they want to make changes, don’t know how to do that.

We’re thrilled to have Anneka Deva from Enrol Yourself to tell us about how the Ownit programme is empowering women to take control of their money for good, through peer coaching.

We’ll have a taster of what that is like.

You’ll go away with a greater understanding of the power of money and crucially, with some ideas of how you can make sure that what happens with your money matches your values.

What people say about Ownit:-

“I feel genuinely more empowered! I feel calmer, more positive, and
more in control, regarding aspects of my life which involve money”

“It’s been so exciting and eye-opening to realise more possibilities to
act for the environment and support better ethics.”

As ever there will be opportunities to get to know other women working in sustainability better and to renew old friendships.
Come on line at 17:15 for a chance to do some informal networking in small groups.
