Thank you for initiating and developing such a great network. It feels both useful in terms of contents and nurturing in terms of support and networking.
WINS Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire began in April 2019, with a successful taster event hosted by Keele University. The network is now thriving and is being embraced by women active in sustainability in the local area. We provide a space that is collaborative, insightful and friendly and welcome all women who either work in, or are passionate about, sustainability. Women at all stages of their career come along to events, and we particularly encourage local students to take part and find out more about working in the sustainability sector.

Keele University will kindly be hosting future live events for the WINS Stoke and Staffs Hub. We have these dates booked but only time will tell if they are able to go ahead as face to face events.

Claire has a portfolio career, being self employed and working flexibly! Claire spent 12 years working at the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management, developing a love of sustainability issues and effective networks, which are so vital for enabling professionals to thrive and learn. Running the WINS Hub for Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire helps combine these two passions. She is also an Associate Consultant for MemberWise, a network for membership professionals.
Motivated by her need to do great work flexibly and, after noticing the gap between people needing flexible work arrangements and employers enabling it, is passionate about bridging this void, sustainably of course! Claire works with employers to promote and enable more flexible working, for the benefit of business and staff, through training, events and consultancy. Flexible working helps more women stay in work (especially after starting a family) and can contribute to reduced carbon emissions via home working (reduced car travel!)
She loves time with her family, being absorbed in a good book and camping!
